Historical and Touristic Places of Çankırı Province


The tourism sector in Çankırı has not yet developed. Despite being rich in tourism, there are few accommodation and infrastructure facilities.

Çankırı Castle: It is on the Karatekin Hill in the north of the city. The Romans, the Byzantines, the Danishmendis, the Seljuks and the castle used during the Ottoman period, have a reputation for their strength. It is ruined today. Inside the castle are the remains of Romans and the tomb of Emir Karatekin from the commanders of Danishmend.

Eskipazar Castle: It was built during the Seljuk period. Today it is in ruins.

Ulu Jami: Kanuni was built by Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent Sadik Kalfa. The castle, which started construction in 1522, was completed in 1558. In 1936, the demolished civilian was demolished and lost its original structure.

İmâret Câmi: It was built by Candaroglu Kasım Bey in 1397. In 1916 he saw tamar.

Mirahor Câmii: It was built by Tüfekçibaşı Ismâil Ağa in 1797. Today is a ruin.

Taşmescid (Shifahâne): The Seljuk Sultan was built by Alâeddîn Keykubâd in 1335 as a health facility. One part is left.

There are various rock tombs in Çerkeş, Eskipazar and Ilgaz districts.

Ilgaz Mountains: The Ilgaz Mountains, which are subject to Şiirere and türküler, are a resting place covered with forests, the air of the spring and the water are very beautiful. Bozan Hamamı: It is between Ilgaz district, Lower Bozan and Upper Bozan villages. It is useful for digestive system disorders.

Melancholy Drinking: It is located near Melan Stream, 30 km away from Kurşunlu. It is useful in the treatment of digestive system and liver diseases.
